Know Your "Why?"

Know Your "Why?"

There is a reason you really want to lose weight and get to your goal. What is that reason? If you do not have a compelling reason you will not stick to your plan. Think about this and find a "why" that makes you cry, or at least inspires you deeply every time you think about it. There are as many reasons to want to lose weight as there are people that want to lose it but here are a few to inspire you..

-To be your healthiest self.
-To be able to play with your kids or grandkids and have energy. -To look amazing in your jeans or swimsuit or anything else.

Don't begrudge the shallows. This was something I did for a very long time. I would not acknowledge the shallow reasons I wanted to reach my goal. When I stopped feeling like those weren't valid I was able to be excited about wearing certain clothes which in turn has helped me stay focused on my protocol. The one reason that is the most compelling to me, however, is this....

I want to be a person that reaches her goals!

We become what we practice. Losing weight and getting healthier may be the current goal but we are really just training ourselves to reach goals. To raise the bar of our dreams and then put in the work to achieve them. This is so exciting to me. I dreamed of being fit and healthy for over 20 years and so many times thought it was impossible. Accomplishing that helps me realize what I am capable of. I am now imagining all the other things I once thought were impossible and beginning to strategize to prove to myself that they aren't either.

Practical tip: Create a beautiful image that lists your "why"s. I use Canva.com to do this. Print it out and put it somewhere that you see often. It can be a list or it can be pictures. I title this "Best Me" vision board.
